Eastern Missouri car accidents result in death and serious injuries - January 25, 2010

A man from St. Ann, Missouri was killed Sunday when he lost control of his Dodge Dakota truck on the ramp leading from highway 270 onto Hwy 370 in St. Louis County. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, the two car crash happened when the man ran into the rear of a minivan in front of him, lost control of his truck, ran off the left side of the highway, struck a reflective post, went under an overpass and struck a concrete pillar. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle sustained moderate injuries. It is unknown whether the deceased had been wearing his seat belt.
The Missouri Highway Patrol also reported Saturday that an 18 year old man from Imperial, Missouri was seriously injured when he was ejected from his car after a one car accident on Interstate 55 in Jefferson County. The individual lost control of his vehicle while changing lanes. The 2008 Chevrolet Colorado he was driving, traveled off the right side of the road before overturning and ejecting the driver. A 15 year old passenger received moderate injuries. Both individuals were taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Medical Center for treatment.

In another one vehicle accident, occuring at 12:55 Friday morning, a 39 year old man from Cadet, Missouri received serious injuries after his 2002 Chevrolet S10 traveled off the right side of Klondike Road in Jefferson County. According to the report, the front right corner of the vehicle struck a ditch and overturned. The individual was taken by ambulance to Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
