$210,000 Settlement for Severed Brachial Plexus - February 12, 2010

The Padberg & Corrigan Law Firm secured a settlement on behalf of a plaintiff in a medical malpractice case in Pulaski County that was to be tried in Waynesville, MO on February 16, 2010. The plaintiff was treated by a general surgeon who intended to remove a small nodule on the side of plaintiff's neck. The surgery was successful. Several months after surgery, the plaintiff began experiencing shoulder difficulties, including atrophy and decreased use of the shoulder. It was determined that during the procedure to remove the nodule, a branch of the brachial plexus was severed. The plaintiff was represented by Matthew Padberg and Michael Corrigan against the doctor and St. John's Clinic, which employed the doctor. Two weeks before trial, the doctor and clinic agreed to pay $210,000 in full settlement of plaintiff's claims.
